Some Thoughts

They should put those pedestrian bridges at every major intersection. Being a pedestrian is bad enough. Why make it worse by forcing people to wait at lights?

I've gotten sick (coughing, sore throat, runny nose, fatigue, and/or upset stomach) three times in the last month or so. What's up with that? My immune system needs to step its game up.

I'm not really that excited with the Patriots Giants rematch. I would have much rather seen Baltimore and San Francisco play each other in the super bowl.

I think I draw better when I'm in class or when I'm watching television. Something about having other things going on in the background eases the pressure. I guess I'm more creative when art is an escape or a diversion rather than the primary focus.

Do people tip the chefs at restaurants? What if you have great food, but terrible service?

How long has Brian Scalabrine been "The White Mamba"? This is news to me.

Don't you hate it when you brush your teeth and then you get really hungry a little while later?

Some Thoughts

This is a quote from Wikipedia: "'Scarlet Begonias' is a song by the Grateful Dead in 4/4 time". really? Is it necessary to specify that the song is in the most common time signature ever? I could understand if it had a weird structure (like the Terminator theme), but 4/4 is nothing special.

If I go to class without paper and a pen to doodle, I get really bored

PB&J on a slightly stale sandwich roll is disgusting. Never ever try it.

I saw this girl on campus Tuesday and, for some strange reason, the fact that she didn't have a smart phone made her more attractive. Maybe it's just sexy to know that we have something in common... at least until one of us gets a new phone.

I just saw this on Urban Dictionary. WTF? I don't have poor self esteem (do I?). Then again, I think I finally moved up to 5'6.5" so maybe that makes all the difference.

Captain Beyond is the coolest band name ever. Whoever came up with that name should win a medal or something. Their music is pretty good too.

I've noticed that I tend to gravitate towards other awkward people at social gatherings

I kind of want to try being vegetarian. But I love meat sooooooooooooo much (pause), and I'm kind of picky about vegetables... so I guess I don't really want to be a vegetarian.

Art Stuff

I've been pretty bored recently so I worked on some new art stuff and cleaned up some old doodles.

double bassed god

Q: If Lil' B was in a Jazz band, what instrument would he play?
A: The Bass

p.s. my scanner totally butchered the original drawing, but I couldn't think of any way to fix that problem. Any suggestions?

p.p.s.

Song of the Moment: I Need a Girl Pt. 2 -Puff Daddy, Ginuwine, Loon and Mario Winans

This song was a classic from the days before Diddy was concerned with voting or dying and expensive cheesecake

Thing that I'm currently anticipating: My World Religions class. Although my teacher has trouble staying on topic and writing coherent notes on the board, I am genuinely interested in the subject matter, and I enjoy the laid-back nature of the class. My only complaints are that my class notes are more or less useless for when studying for tests, and the length of the class (an hour and fifteen minutes tests the limits of my attention span.

Random Thoughts: I'm not an expert on agriculture or lawn care, but it seems as if they way they water the grass at Arizona State is highly wasteful and ineffective. In a place where water is important, it seems like there would be a better way to irrigate the lawn than flooding it each day. The grass here isn't particularly green or healthy looking, and the only results of this method seem to be brown patches, mud, puddles of standing water and funny smells (I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the irrigation. It could be something else). Maybe it's just that I don't understand the specific needs of plants in southwestern climates, but it all seems a bit silly to me.

Why is Columbus Day a holiday? Columbus didn't even find America on purpose... he thought he was in India. If we're in the business of celebrating accidental discoveries, we should nationally recognize the day I found a two-month old cookie in my backpack or the day my friend discovered an expensive kitchen knife in the middle of the street. In honor of Christopher Columbus finding a new continent... and then denying that it was a new continent, here's a link to a list of the Top 10 Accidental discoveries.

It has recently come to my attention that I talk loudly at times. I've started to notice this more and more, and I've realized that it can be pretty awkward and annoying. I would like to publicly apologize for leading my friends down the path to premature hearing loss.
